Tax Due Dates

Knowing when your taxes are due is important. Filing returns late can lead to penalties and other IRS enforcement action. 
Here are some major tax filing deadlines with the IRS and Florida Department of Revenue for individuals and businesses (if the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the next business day is the due date).

January 15 - Deadline for fourth and final individual estimated income tax payment for prior tax year (e.g. final estimated payment for 2022 return is 1/15/23).

January 31 - Deadline for fourth quarter 941 Payroll Tax Return for prior tax year (e.g. payment for 10/1/22-12/31/22 is due 1/31/23).

January 31 - Deadline for IRS Form 940 Annual Fede4ral Unemployment Tax Return for prior tax year.

January 31 - Deadline for transmitting IRS Form W-2 Wage Reports to employees, along with IRS Form W-3 Wage Summery to IRS.

January 31 -Deadline for transmitting IRS Form 1099-MISC Miscellaneous Income Statements to independent contractors, along with IRS Form 1096 Miscellaneous Income Summary to IRS for prior tax year.

January 31 - Deadline for fourth quarter Florida RT-6 State Unemployment Tax Return for prior tax year (e.g. payment for 10/1/22-12/31/22 is due 1/31/23).

March 15 - First deadline to file IRS Forms 1065 Partnership Income Tax and 1120 S-Corporation Income Tax Returns or IRS Form 7004 extension through September 15.

March 15 - Deadline to file Form 2553 S-corporation election status for current tax year without additional petition.

April 1 -  First Deadline to File FLDOR Form FL-1120 Florida Corporation Return, or F-7004 extension through September 1.

April 1 - Deadline to file Duval (and all other Florida counties) Tangible Property Tax Return.

April 15 - First deadline to file IRS Forms 1040 Individual Income Tax and 1120 C-Corporation Income Tax Returns, or IRS Form 4868 extension to October. 15.

April 15 - Deadline for first individual estimated income tax payment for current tax year.

April 30 - Deadline for first quarter 941 Payroll Tax Return for current tax year.

April 30 - Deadline for first quarter Florida RT-6 State Unemployment Tax Return for current tax year.

May 15 - Dealine to file 990 (or Form 8868 six-month extension) for calendar year Exempt Organizations.

June 15 -  Deadline for second individual estimated income tax payment for current tax year.

July 31 - Deadline for second quarter 941 Payroll Tax Return for current tax year.

July 31 - Deadline for second quarter Florida RT-6 State Unemployment Tax Return for current tax year.
 
July 31 - Deadline for annual IRS Form 2290 Heavy Vehicle Use Tax for prior tax year.

July 31 - Deadline to submit DOL 5500 (Employer Retirement Plan Information Report) to federal Department of Labor.
 
September 15 - Final deadline to file IRS Forms 1065 Partnership Income Tax and 1120 S-Corporation Income Tax Returns with extensions from March 15.

September 15 - Deadline for third individual estimated income tax payment for current tax year.

September 30 - Deadline to file Duval County Occupational License for upcoming year without penalty increase.
 
October 15 - Final deadline to file IRS Forms 1040 Individual Income Tax and 1120 C-Corporation Income Tax Returns with extensions from April 15.

October 31 - Deadline for third quarter 941 Payroll Tax Return for current tax year.

October 31 - Deadline for third quarter Florida RT-6 State Unemployment Tax Return for current tax year.

November 15 - Deadline to file 990 (or 8868 six-month extension for June 30 fiscal year end Exempt Organizations.
